Famous AMerican's Day

The kids all had to pick someone (off a list)  for Famous Americans Day at school.  The whole school participates, and it gets a little more involved as the kids get older.

In first grade, they have to dress up, do a small report, and have 2 lines prepared to say at the assembly.

Alison picked Sally Ride, the first American woman to travel in space.

I *was* going to make her costume, but as I started adding up the cost and time it would take, it just made more sense to spend the $35 and buy it form Amazon!

We did try to make her hair crazy poofy like Sally's though!

They were supposed to sit still like statues, then when someone walked up and pushed their button, they came "alive" and said their 2 lines about who they were.

 Where else would she be sitting if not next to Cole!  He was George Bush (the first one)

They started having a hard time sitting still haha  - that's their other friend Andrew on the right.

 Here they are watching the Kindergarten kids sing their songs on stage.

She was so darn cute!
